The Vanilla year started on the 25th of May in Ambanja on the West side of Madagascar where vanilla flowers mature earlier than in the main producing area, the SAVA

Farmers were requesting Ar 200 000 for their beans, collectors offered Ar 20000 and government issued a regulation that the price should be of a minimum of Ar 75 000. The bids were controlled by police and the media were present and exporters who bought did it at Ar 75000.
